Dear Members,

The Honorable Dan Andrews MP

I will inform National Cabinet tonight that Victoria will proceed over the next 48 hours to implement a shutdown of all non-essential activity across our state to combat the spread of Coronavirus.

This is not something that we do lightly, but it’s clear that if we don’t take this step, more Victorians will contract coronavirus, our hospitals will be overwhelmed and more Victorians will die.

Victorians will still be able to go to the supermarket, the bank, the pharmacy and other essential stores, like petrol stations and convenience stores. Freight, logisitics and home delivery are also considered essential and will remain open.

I will also inform National Cabinet that school holidays will be brought forward in Victoria, starting on Tuesday 24 March.

All measures to be implemented by Victoria are consistent with the health advice provided by the Victorian Chief Health Officer.

The decision whether to re-open schools after the Term 1 holidays will likewise be determined following advice from the Chief Health Officer.

I will have more to say on these measures tomorrow morning.

Hi Fellow Members of the Yellow and Black Army,

This edition is full of great news.

News about members of the Club stepping up and taking on roles to ensure we are the “Club of choice in Wyndham”.

The Board and I are delighted to announce that Kelly Breen has taken on the role of Director of Finance. Kelly comes with great experience and expertise to manage this role, being a partner in Teamwork Accounting, Pt Cook. Kelly will be setting up our new accounting system and working her way around the system in the next few weeks, before assuming full responsibilities once she has bank access, etc. Thank you, Kelly.

All treasurer matters are still to be directed to: and either Kelly or I will get back to you.

I also have pleasure in announcing that Lee Whitmore has taken on the Inclusion Officer Role. Lee will work with section convenors to organise our Inclusion Days, including Women’s and Men’s Round, Fair Go Sports Day and other events. Thank you, Lee.

The success of any Club is the combined effort of all.

The above announcements add to the great group of people on our Club’s committee however we are still in need two people to fill the following positions:

Please contact me if you can help out.
