Update re Corona Virus and Club Activities – 15th March 2020

To Club members and members of our community.

The Board is continually monitoring and taking advice from Hockey Australia and Hockey Victoria, as well as that from Government and Health Bodies in relation to the coronavirus and Club activities.

The health of our players, officials and spectators is paramount in our considerations and the decisions we make. As you are aware, the advice is constantly being updated and this may, at any time, change what is happening. We will inform you as soon as practical when we are informed of any changes via our Facebook page, our website and emails (registered members).

At this stage we wish to advise that the planned activities of the Club, including training and practice matches, will continue as planned. As advised by HA we will take several precautionary measures outlined below.

➢ Hand sanitiser will be provided in each change room and canteen counter. This is dependent on supply being available.

All persons attending the Club are asked to:

➢ Wash hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds or use hand sanitiser before and after games/training.

➢ All players to provide own water bottles, towels and personal items

➢ Hand shaking at the commencement/conclusion of games to be replaced by an agreed process by captains – stick touching, etc.

➢ If you are unwell DO NOT ATTEND activities at the Club – coaches will be asked to send players away if they arrive unwell.

➢ maintain a high level of personal hygiene:

- regularly washing your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds;

- avoiding touching your eyes, nose and mouth

- avoid close contact with people who are sick

- cover your mouth to cough or sneeze

- washing mouthguards after use.

Any member with flu-like symptoms should self-exclude from playing, training and spectating at the first sign of the symptoms and seek medical advice. If you become infected with the virus, please advise the Club, as we are mandated to report incidents.

If you have any queries or concerns, please contact either: secretary.werribeehockey@gmail.com or president.whc@gmail.com

Thanking you for your cooperation.
